The new Ian Fleming International Airport, located five miles from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, opens today (12/1/11). After having undergone a $300 million upgrade scheme the airport now features a passenger lounge, customs and international clearance, pilot briefing room and specialized services for private aircrafts. The airport is named after James Bond author Ian Fleming who wrote all 17 of his James Bond novels in Jamaica.
As The Luxury Travel Bible reported last year the airport was previously known as the Boscobel Airstrip and has been developed to accomadate the arrival of private international air crafts. The new airport is Jamaica's third international airport and will provide private aircraft travellers easy and efficient service close to popular destinations on the eastern part of the island. http://www.visitjamaica.com/
