The new Relais & Châteaux hotel, Villa Clarisse is now open. Back in January we tipped this as one of our Top Ten openings of 2011. The restored 17th-century property in the historic port of Saint Martin de Ré has only nine rooms and suites so not surprisingly opening week has been all booked up. Stunning view over the UNESCO World Heritage Site Île de Ré and a boutique spa with two treatment rooms make this one worth putting on your must-stay list.
